New Honors for His Name contains the fruits of fifty years of hymn writing. This collection of 66 hymn texts has hymns for all the seasons and activities of the church. The many Advent and Christmas hymns in the collection reflect Merrick's tradition of writing a hymn text for his family Christmas card each year. Other texts were written for special occasions: a wedding, an ordination, and even one in anticipation of the moon landing in 1969!
