This is an absolutely lovely arrangement! I first heard it years ago and was delighted to find that it was available in sheet music from this site. I am an alto in an octet at our church, and we will perform this in a service soon.

I first sang this in high school at an state wide choir at Ohio Wesleyan University. 300 or so of us in this great hall with theatre seating. The conductor seated us SATB, SATB . The acoustics were quite good in that big space. During the performance that evening the sound and spirit of this piece was spine-tingling. It was pure genius to seat us like that because we could hear all the other parts and yet pick up our part from the row ahead. Beautiful, beautiful piece. You won't be disappointed. A bit fast at the beginning (120 is a gallop) but tone it down a bit to 96 for us mortals. I'm getting it again for our church choir. Should be spectacular.

I was familiar with Virgil Thomson's My Shepherd Will Supply My Need having sung it in college. It is indeed a classic and the choir at my present church handled it beautifully with one rehearsal! It is one of my favorite pieces and it was wonderful to be able to use the 4-part anthem for our recent Good Shepherd Sunday.
