Love this book!
I used this book when I was a student 50 years ago and I'm using it now as a teacher. It's got a wonderful collection of pieces from baroque to romantic periods, ranging from intermediate to late-intermediate.

Good selection, serious drawbacks
Actual print quality is rough. You can read it, but it's not easy on the eyes. The binding is bad - you will have trouble keeping this open at the right page without something to hold it. It doesn't include the opus number of most pieces, which is an odd, annoying choice. Worst of all there are some very strange editorial decisions. Case in point, Beethoven's Ecossaise in G is included (WoO 23, but the book doesn't tell you that!). One of its defining qualities is a very prominent A# at the end of the first phrase. In this book it's printed as a B. So decent collection, but now I feel I have to cross check everything against other published versions.

Fun to play!
This is a songbook with well-known composers and pieces for the intermediate piano player. I really enjoy the selection of music in here! Must be comfortable with 16th notes and accidentals to play.

Great collection
Still have my original copy from the 1960s and I greatly enjoy playing these pieces as a form of relaxation. Originally, I learned most of them on the piano, but now play many on the clavichord (meantone tuning with short octave). A great collection with something for just about all tastes in Baroque and Classical Periods.

Music by the Masters
I was disappointed that there was little music in this that I didn't already have some place else. Maybe there was an index that I should have paid more attention to. It's hard to keep the book OPEN as you play which makes it less inviting.

Just challenging enough.
This is a tasteful variety of short pieces from baroque and classical masters (J.S.Bach, Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, etc.). As a casual adult intermediate keyboard music reader, with some on-and-off formal lessons way back when, I find this collection is relaxing, fun to play. You don't need virtuoso skills, just some moderate ability for reading and technique. I'd rate it as ranging from early intermediate to intermediate - there's a good variety of challenge levels, without venturing into the advanced virtuoso level that is beyond the average amateur like me.
