This late intermediate piece commissioned by the Hattiesburg Music Teachers League, in honor of their 2005 composer festival, is written in the Romantic style. This piece is full of expressive passages utilizing rubato playing. Contained in the piece are eighth, triplet, sixteenth, and thirty-second note passages that will give the student the variety of rhythms in which to explore.
About SMP Level 8 (Early Advanced)
4 and 5-note chords spanning more than an octave. Intricate rhythms and melodies.

Fun and Impressive
I bought this for one of my students, and he was so excited to learn it that he actually wanted go home and practice! It has some difficult 2 against 3 rythms: triplets in the right hand while playing eighth notes in the left, as well as eighth notes in the left hand and quarter note triplets in the right. It also has a measure of 64th notes. However, in my opinion, it sounds a lot harder than it is, so it makes a great recital piece. I love this piece because it got my high school age student excited about playing the piano again!
