This selection represents some of Henry Purcell's finest work and is delightful with its emphasis on a light marcato stroke that flows easily at an allegretto tempo. The key of G major fits naturally under the fingers for young string students, and the bass part has been simplified in a few places to more accurately match the technical abilities of developing students.
