Mindscape No.1 String Quartet Score and Parts by Marcel Chyrzynski String Quartet - Sheet Music

By Marcel Chyrzynski

The Adachi Museum of Art, in the town of Yasugi, is set in a garden regarded as the most beautiful in Japan, containing elements of all the Japanese horticultural styles. It is viewed mainly through large windows from inside the museum building. The garden was designed as a sequence of static scenes and can be admired like a painting. According to Professor Suzuki: “It replicates a seascape with pines, white sand and the ocean. It is a typical Japanese landscape, very common, full of calm, a Motherscape, a mindscape”. The term 'mindscape', with its poetry and transcendent meaning, inspired me to compose a cycle of chamber works – highly personal, leading inside the composer's mind.
