Composed by Vidas Pinkevicius. Christian,Christmas,Contemporary,Religious,Sacred. Score. 2 pages. Secrets of Organ Playing #930705. Published by Secrets of Organ Playing (A0.1345823).

This gentle meditation is based on the famous Polish Christmas carol "W żłobie leży" which in English speaking world is known as Infant Holy, Infant Lowly. It's also very popular in Lithuania and is known as "Gul šiandieną". I created this piece for the first-year student of our Vilnius University Unda Maris organ studio Kotryna Kuliešiūtė, so that she could perform it in our upcoming Christmas concert. The structure of the piece is very simple - the right hand features the hymn tune in F major, the left hand has ostinato figure which is repeated every 7 measures. The pedal part is very easy - it has only 5 long pedal points - on F, D, Bb, C and F. I recorded it as a demonstration for Kotryna during one of our organ studio rehearsals at VU St. John's church. Hope you will enjoy it!
