“Meditation” is just that: a quiet, relaxing, contemplative piece that gives the flutist the opportunity to explore a soundscape through silence as well as expressivity. It is meant to be a very reflective piece, requiring sensitivity and patience, and does not have a time signature.
There are plenty of silences and I see this as similar to Native American flute music like R. Carlos Nakai might play with hints of a couple Christian hymns, perhaps with the flutist on a plateau overlooking some canyons as the sun rises.
