Mazltov! Jewish-American Wedding Music from the Repertoire of Dave Tarras by Various Clarinet Solo - Sheet Music

By Various

'Mazltov!' is a collection of Jewish-American wedding music from the repertoire of the clarinettist Dave Tarras, probably the most famous and highly rated exponent of Klezmer in the 20th century. Klezmer, with roots going back as far as the 16th century, is the traditional instrumental music for weddings and celebrations of the Yiddish-speaking Ashkenazim Jews of Eastern Europe. With this edition the renowned Klezmer clarinettist and researcher Joel Rubin presents 16 titles which he has already recorded for the CD 'Zeydes un Eniklekh' (Grandfathers and Grandsons) (Wergo SM 1610-2). The clarinet part also supplies numerous chords in order to enable other accompanying instruments to join in. A detailed preface provides further information regarding the history of Klezmer in general and fills in the background on the individual pieces.
