A while back I asked my brother George to write a poem for me. I wanted a text that could be used for a Christmas tune and I had some specific suggestions regarding how the atmosphere might have been during that most holy night. Might there have been some fear and trepidation? My brother sent me this poem to my great delight.

My main concern when writing this piece was to compose a tune that would not overshadow these beautiful, haunting words. It needed to be simple and elegant enough to enhance the message without obscuring the message.
