Deze eerste versie uit 2010, had een ongebruikelijke instrumentatie, met o.a. twee elektrische orgels, dus herschreef ik het in 2012 als een compositie voor een groot blaasorkest en veranderde ik de titel in “Manta Scramble”. Het werk is een bossa nova, maar met een extra swingend gedeelte in de saxofoonsectie. De titel, “Manta Scramble” is de naam van een duikplek bij Ishigaki Island, Japan, dat bekend staat als een plaats waar je manta’s van dichtbij kan bewonderen.

I composed this work in 2010 under the title "Nu-Bossa”. This first version had an unusual instrumentation, including two electronic organs, so in 2012 I rewrote it as a large wind band composition and changed the title to "Manta Scramble”. This work is basically a bossa nova, but with an inserted swing part featuring a saxophone section. The title, "Manta Scramble" is the name of a diving spot near Ishigaki Island, Japan, known as a point where you can encounter manta rays at close quarters.

Cette première version de 2010, avait une instrumentation inhabituelle, notamment deux orgues électriques. Je l'ai donc réécrite en 2012 comme une composition pour un grand orchestre à vent et j'ai changé le titre en "Manta Scramble". Le morceau est une bossa nova, mais avec une section swing supplémentaire dans la section des saxophones. Le titre, "Manta Scramble", est le nom d'un site de plongée près de l'île d'Ishigaki, au Japon, qui est connu comme un endroit où l'on peut admirer de près les raies manta.

Diese erste Fassung aus dem Jahr 2010 besaß eine ungewöhnliche Instrumentierung, darunter zwei elektrische Orgeln, sodass ich es 2012 als Komposition für ein großes Blasorchester umschrieb und den Titel in „Manta Scramble“ änderte. Das Stück ist ein Bossa Nova, aber mit einem extra Swing-Saxophonteil. Der Titel „Manta Scramble“ ist der Name eines Tauchplatzes in der Nähe der Insel Ishigaki in Japan, der als ein Ort bekannt ist, an dem man Mantas aus nächster Nähe bewundern kann.
