Madrigali a cinque voci. Libro secondo Choir - Sheet Music

In contrast to the two preceding, modern-time editions of Carlo Gesualdo's"Libro Secondo"by Francesco Vatielli (Rome 1956) and Wilhelm Weismann (Hamburg 1962), both of which were based on the"Partitura"(Genoa 1613) by Simone Molinaro, this new critical edition edited by Marco Mangani is based on the first edition which appeared in part-books published by Baldini in Ferrara in 1594. In addition, all further available sources have been taken into consideration and as a result many new readings are being presented. This new volume also offers a critical edition of the texts set to music and a bibliographical description of the"editio princeps"by Francesco Saggio.
