    Good, but Misleading

    This is a wonderful book, except this website's product preview is misleading. I was expecting pieces like Weiss' Fantasia to be in it since the preview said so, but they were not. For the sake of future buyers, please note that this website sells the 1995 version of this book, not the 1998 version like it says.

    Could be a lot better

    I studied guitar in college and received a BA in music, and I've seen my fair share of sheet music.The repertoire contained in this book spans a the full history of the guitar, and includes a wide variety of music, and it is definitely handy to have around just for its' sheer volume. However, in playing through many of these pieces, I have found the notation quite lacking. Specifically, there are places where the fingerings are reversed, or incorrect fingerings are used, or there is no notation at all (such as where to begin a bar or shift position). There are also many places that indicate slurs between notes on different strings (which, for those non-guitarists out there, is not possible).It is definitely nice to have this volume around, but I am overall dissatisfied with the seeming desire to place quantity well ahead of quality in the editing process.
