This surprising five-part piece was commissioned by the city of Ripatransone, a wonderful medieval town in Central Italy. It includes a tribute to Gioacchino Rossini (with some quotations from his works hidden in the music). A beautiful waltz celebrates three heroines of Ripatransone with plenty of courage and passion. The ancient Gregorian chant 'Surrexit Dominus vere' (The Lord has really arisen from the dead. The sounds of the "Fire Horse" Feast, which takes place on the first Sunday after Easter. The Saltarello marchigiano "to the vintage" is an old folk song which is a tribute to the wines of Ripatransone. The Italian composer Lorenzo Della Fonte is a well-known conductor and teacher, and composes exclusively by commission.
