Kututu's Cha-Cha-Chá is a single-movement piece for the Youth Orchestra by Composer William Pagán-Pérez. The piece is in the key of D Major. This piece was inspired by the song Piel Canela by songwriter and singer Bobby Capó. Composer Pagán-Pérez followed some teachings organized in Volume I of the Suzuki Methods to compose the piece for the string sections and a grade level 2 or 3 for the wind and brass instruments (rhythms, melodies, or range). The key of D Major can be a challenge for the winds and brass (especially for clarinets and trumpets in Bb), but music teachers, conductors, and students will manage the challenges by practicing scales and arpeggios. The piece may sound more complex than it really is, especially when listening to the percussion section. All Cha-Cha-Chá (Latino) rhythms are written in a very simple manner to support the orchestra students.
