An arrangement for mixed choir (SATB, Includes occasional divisi passages) and piano.

Hakushū Kitahara and Kōsaku Yamada’s *Kono Michi* (“This Road”) is widely loved as a lyrical Japanese art song and is also included in the “100 Songs of Japan” selection.

Following the imagery of Kitahara’s poetry, I gave each verse from the first through the fourth its own distinct harmonic color. While maintaining careful balance within the choir, I hope the singers will perform naturally and allow the melody to sing freely and expressively.

The interlude is also given ample space, creating an atmosphere that invites the listener to immerse themselves in the world of the piece.
