Composed by John Daversa. Score and parts. Published by Walrus Music Publishing (WA.54657).This is a progressive, modern jazz composition containing several meter and feel changes. It is based around a rhythmic cell in 7/4, however the majority of the tune is a double time "Drums 'n' Bass" 6/4 feel. Though there are many other time signatures visited (12/8, 5/8, 5/4, & 4/4), the meter changes are comfortable and intuitive. After the substantial introduction, driving 7/4 rock section, and 6/4 melody have been stated, there is a raucous trumpet solo, followed by a driving guitar solo. Then, the groove breaks down to a tight R&B groove featuring a bass solo as flutes and clarinets accoumpany. As the rhythm section goes back to vamping the 7/4 rock cell, the horns play a conducted slower temp above the chaos. Eventually, the two tempi sync back together for a rousing finale. Highest note for lead trumpet is written F#. Key: a minor. Alto/Flute, Alto/Clar, Tenor/Clar, Tenor/Flute, Bari/Bass Clar, 4,4, Evi or Snyth Solo, G,P, B, D.
