Jesu dulcis memoria is perhaps best known in its English translation, "Jesus, the very thought of Thee". Mr. Lee freely uses four part homophony and polyphony, wide-ranging vocal lines and rhythmic crescendi for expression. Perhaps most telling of Mr. Lee's study with Leo Sowerby is his ability to use these musical elements in a neo-romantic style to express a text that is centuries old.
