This beautiful, graceful setting of the traditional Polish carol is ideally suited for young changing-voice choirs. Appropriate vocal ranges and accessible part writing allow developing mixed-voice choirs the opportunity to sing with confidence and success. Simulating a light Renaissance style, the anthem's middle section gives singers a chance to sing a cappella accompanied only by tambourine, hand drum and finger cymbals. The piece then concludes with a full, flowing piano accompaniment that artistically highlights the lush vocal harmonies. A hymn study and teaching plan for the anthem are available on the Choristers Guild website.
