The other band members wanted some "beach music"; hence, Beach Boys. (It should be noted that the surf's up seriously here only when there's a hurricane),
Cash Box called 1964's "I Get Around" an "exciting, tailored-for-teen-tastes hot rod stomper." Who can argue with that?
I don't know if this one's a hot rod stomper -- it ain't fancy in any way -- but it's just the thing if you're playing for an audience drinking beer in the sunshine.
