A super-energy tune – especially when repeated at a brisk tempo! Listen to the excerpt and you'll agree. This fun chart reached #11 on the US Billboard Hot Rhythm & Blues Singles Chart in 1965 and was used in the famous BLUES BROTHERS movie as an introductory tune for the band.
Easy key with multiple courtesy accidentals and well-marked rehearsal numbers reduce the amount of time needed in rehearsal and improve performance. Note: The wind parts are fairly easy, but the Electric Bass line is a real finger-twister.
Parts are formatted to fit in a flip-folder, but print on letter-sized paper if you prefer to use 3-ring binders.
The highly-flexible "BcP-Flex" scoring imitates the classic rock band sound by using only 4 "instruments/voices" - lead, rhythm, bass, and drums:
Lead: Flute, Clarinets, Trumpet 1 & 2
Rhythm: Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Horn, Trombone/Euphonium, TC Baritone
Bass: Electric Bass, Bari Sax, Tuba (this chart will work without electric bass)
Drums: There is a written drum set part but it is often easier to get the drummer to "pick-up" the tune by listening to the original recording/chart.
