'Hyperdrive' is inspired by the idea of faster-than-light travel in speculative fiction and sci-fi. I was drawn by ideas of escapism and a desire to not engage with the issues of our time, instead looking to a hypothetical utopian future as often imagined in the genre.The piece is structured into three sections - The Machine, The Pilot, and The Hyperdrive.
