The text, with excerpts from various psalms, calls upon everyone of every nation to sing praise to God. Quotes the opening of the hymn lasst uns erfreuen in several places, and goes on to be a solid anthem of praise, concluding with the old hundredth and the familiar text “All people that on earth do dwell” in which the congregation joins. Opening choral section briefly quotes LASST UNS ERFREUEN, in second portion, assembly joins in the hymn "All People That on Earth Do Dwell" (OLD HUNDREDTH).
