Haydn -- 6 Sonatinas by Franz Joseph Haydn Piano Solo - Sheet Music

By Franz Joseph Haydn

These early keyboard works by Haydn were originally called Divertimentos or Sonatas, but because of their form and brevity were later renamed. Containing two to four movements each, they include much that is the essence of the Haydn style. The Sonatina in G Major, Hob. XVI/8 is perhaps the best known of the set, yet all are worthy of study as preparation for Mozart and Haydn sonatas.

    Haydn -- 6 Sonatinas . . .

Wow! I have to say thanks SMP for making these most special easier Haydn Sonatinas available. I am just an middle-age Late Elementary/Early Intermediate player, BUT these Sonatinas will help, also right now I'm studing Frank Lynes Sonatinas, Dennis Alexanders Book A & B Sonatinas, and the Alfred large book of various Sonatinas - the one arranged by Dr. Louis Kohler, he was known as the GREAT TEACHER in German for all his life, and he compiled this big book of all of the very best Sonatinas just for students! Kohler was a great friend a co-worker of both Fanz Lizst & Richard Wagner! Very important it is to start out study with playing H.S.(Hands Separetely), and never play any faster than you can so as to not have any hesitations during your practice play backs, okay. Lichner is also not to be forgotten as great study practice of his easier type Sonatinas. Mozart put together his 6 Vienese Sonatinas, but they're a bit harder than Haydn's.
