Hermann Poehlmann (1863-1942) served as the director of the Grove City College Conservatory of Music from July of 1893 until his retirement in 1939. He was born in Germany and was a professor at the Royal Conservatory of Dresden before emigrating to the United States. He composed the Alma Mater in 1910 and published it in 1913, in a collection of songs titled "Songs of Grove City College."

Joseph Hasper is a prolific composer and an Associate Professor of Music at Grove City College.
