The composer dedicated Goodnight to his two youngest daughters, Teresa and Sarah, creating another addition to his series of children’s pieces, which includes Powerplay and Romantic Ballad. The intimate atmosphere created by the music reflects the unique and precious connection between a father and his daughters. As the name implies, Goodnight was conceived as a lullaby, making it a perfect encore to end an evening concert.

De componist heeft Goodnight opgedragen aan zijn twee jongste dochters, Teresa en Sarah. Daarmee is dit werk een aanvulling op zijn reeks kinderstukken, waartoe ook Powerplay en Romantic Ballad behoren. De lieflijkesfeer van de muziek weerspiegelt de innige relatie tussen een vader en zijn dochters. Zoals de titel suggereert, is Goodnight gecomponeerd als een soort slaapliedje, zodat het werk het uitstekend doet als toegift - eenperfect rustpunt ter afsluiting.

Dieses Stück widmete der Komponist seinen beiden jüngsten Töchtern Teresa und Sarah. Es reiht sich damit in die Serie seiner Kinderstücke Powerplay und Romantic Ballad ein. Die besondere Atmosphäre der Musik reflektiert die zärtliche Beziehung des Vaters zu seinen Kindern. Wie der Name schon andeutet, ist Goodnight eigentlich als Schlaflied gedacht, eignet sich aber auch ideal als Zugabe, als ruhiger Schlusspunkt eines Konzerts.

Comme son nom l’indique, Goodnight se joue telle une berceuse, une oeuvre venant clore idéalement tout concert de soirée.

Come suggerisce il titolo, Goodnight nasce come una ninna nanna, ma è perfetto come bis alla fine di un concerto.
