These two choruses are from the lyric Satire "Il était un Petit Navire",composed in 1951 by Germaine Tailleferre to a libretto by HenriJeanson. The "Choeur des Coeurs" (the "Chorus of Hearts", whichmakes a joke on the two similar sounding words in French) is a choralpassage which is used three times in the work, each time with differentwords on the same music. It is a parody on the heroic choruses in theRomantic Grand Opera style. "Et Patati, et Patata" ("Bla, Bla, Bla") isat the end of the first act and is an illustration of the people of Mrseilleon the Canebière ( a famous harbour in Marseilles) who are gossipingand fighting amongst themselves.French text
