Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Iris Kao. Baroque,Chamber,Classical. 5 pages. Iris Kao Music #1043709. Published by Iris Kao Music (A0.1465010).The Allemande from Bach's French Suite No. 2 can best be described as hauntingly beautiful. Veins of melancholy flow through the entire piece, as if lamenting something that has long past. Faint scents of joy occasionally appear, yet are immediately swallowed by swells of deep nostalgia and regret. It is not until the very final chord do we see some hope; a light at the end of the tunnel, at the end of it all. No note in the entire movement is difficult to play, yet a convincing performance requires more than accurate fingerwork, but rather a heart capable of resonance with the human condition.
I have not included any fingerings, tempo or expressive markings on the sheet music. Interpretation is left up to the players (or instructor), as Bach does in most of his works.
