By ABBA. By Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulvaeus, and Stig Anderson. Arranged by Will Corbin. Pop. 21 pages. Will Corbin #1039621. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1460714).ABBA singer Frida Lyngstad first recorded "Fernando," named for a bartender at a joint the band frequented, as a solo performance in Swedish. ABBA recorded it a year later, and it became one of their biggest hits, selling 6 million singles in 1976 alone; it was for two decades the holder of the record for time at No. 1 in Australia. This treatment runs a little long; it can be shortened by a minute or so by jumping past the mostly repeated second portion directly to the ending measures (you can figure out where to make the hop).
