String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download
By Julio Iglesias. By Louis Gaste and Morris Albert. Arranged by Matthew Naughtin. Contemporary. Score and parts. 18 pages. Matthew Naughtin #5214509. Published by Matthew Naughtin (A0.852938).
When Brazilian singer Morris Albert recorded "Feelings" in 1974 it became an international hit song and rose to number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. But there was a problem--Albert had claimed authorship of both the words and music, not acknowledging that he was using a tune written by the French songwriter Loulou Gasté. In 1981 Gasté sued Albert for copyright infringement, claiming that "Feelings" plagiarized the melody of his 1957 song "Pour Toi". Gasté won the lawsuit, gaining seven-eighths of all royalties, and they now share the credits for the song. Whatever the legal issues, this lush, romantic arrangement for string quartet will spark "feelings of love" in any audience. The file includes the full score and all four parts.
