"Faithfully," written by Journey's keyboard player Jonathan Cain, has quite the unusual origin story. After writing the lyrics on the tour bus one day, Cain proceeded to "get the melody out of a dream" that night, and composed the entire song in 30 minutes the following day. Appropriately, the lyrics describe the difficulties of being a musician and living life on the road, but they end with a reassurance to his spouse that he will always remain faithful. Just as quickly as the song was written, it shot to the top of the charts, hitting number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and cementing itself as one of the band's biggest hits.
