We all need to be heard, understood, and valued for who we are, and “Eve” invites us to sit with that truth. USE: "Eve" can be performed by small or large ensembles, and is ideal for audiences who are ready to explore, recognize, and celebrate the diversity of our human experience. The parts have few divisi, mostly near the end of the song. The storytelling lyrics are central to the performance, and the way the voices sing the name “Eve” can create a sense of care throughout the song.LYRICS, "EVE"V1Eve used to toddle through the kitchenWearing Cinderella’s nightgown, ‘stead of PJs from her shelfEve used to gather with her girlfriendsIn the blue jeans from her brother, on the carpet for show and tell Eve told her folks she was frustratedSaid “I’m s’posed to love my body” – and she turned a little twirlEve said “It’s not so complicatedI was mixed up in your tummy, and I should’ve been born a girl” CHORUSHave you ever wondered if something needs to changeTo live a life that feels more like your own?To sing into the silence, await the world’s embraceThat’s what Eve already knows V2Eve is a coach’s early ChristmasShe’s a very graceful gymnast — spikes a ball right past the netEve has a heart for competitionBut her home state passed a law that says her place is on the benchEve has no patience for the dramaShe’s trying to be the most joyful version of herselfEve has a family who loves herAnd a mom and dad who listen to the deepest truths she tells[CHORUS] BRIDGEIf you could see her smiling on the day she claimed her nameIf you could see her shining with a peace she can’t contain If you could see Eve just as she isYou would see a girl, finding her way[CHORUS + TAG TO END]

LYRICS, "EVE"
V1
Eve used to toddle through the kitchen
Wearing Cinderella’s nightgown, ‘stead of PJs from her shelf
Eve used to gather with her girlfriends
In the blue jeans from her brother, on the carpet for show and tell
Eve told her folks she was frustrated
Said “I’m s’posed to love my body” – and she turned a little twirl
Eve said “It’s not so complicated
I was mixed up in your tummy, and I should’ve been born a girl”
CHORUS
Have you ever wondered if something needs to change
To live a life that feels more like your own?
To sing into the silence, await the world’s embrace
That’s what Eve already knows
V2
Eve is a coach’s early Christmas
She’s a very graceful gymnast — spikes a ball right past the net
Eve has a heart for competition
But her home state passed a law that says her place is on the bench
Eve has no patience for the drama
She’s trying to be the most joyful version of herself
Eve has a family who loves her
And a mom and dad who listen to the deepest truths she tells
[CHORUS]
BRIDGE
If you could see her smiling on the day she claimed her name
If you could see her shining with a peace she can’t contain
If you could see Eve just as she is
You would see a girl, finding her way
