FIND "ESCAMAS" AT THE COMPOSER'S OWN STORE: https://store.danielcueto.com/p/escamas-for-flute-trio/ "Escamas" was written for the PanAmerican Trio (Laurel Swinden, Brielle Frost and Sini Rueda) to be premiered at the 2018 National Flute Association Convention in Orlando, FL. "Escamas" is Spanish for "fish scales". The work is inspired by the iconography of the Moche and Chimú civilizations, which dominated the northern coast of present-day Peru from the II. to the XII. centuries. Specifically, I was inspired by depictions of sea creatures, both real and mythical, as well as depictions of maritime activities such as sailing and fishing. These depictions are mostly found on pottery, as well as on walls in archeological sites of the mentioned civilizations. The work is scored for three C-Flutes. Daniel Cueto

Perfect atmosphere creation and beautiful music!

It was so great to play this music! We premiered it with Panamerican trio in the 2018 NFA convention and got many complements about it. This music is inspired on the iconography of a peruvian culture which was located by the sea, and you will find a variety of colors, characters and resources like the use of canon, which create a beautiful atmosphere that matches its topic perfectly. Personally I loved that it is a contemporary work which is a thecnically challenging but completely understandable and very nice music to listen to.
