Published by Dragon Music Publishing (A0.1083014).I composed Eclipse during the first days of lockdown in March 2020, when concerts, theatres, festivals and all types of performance were suddenly closed down, live music was silenced, and the world became a dark, anxious place. The music was commissioned by Harrogate International Festivals – which had been forced to cancel their 2020 events - and it was subsequently recorded by more than a hundred brass and percussion players from all around the world, led by trumpet soloist Mike Lovatt who brought his own special magic to the project! The title was intended to reflect the optimism of the music: as in a solar eclipse the world may fall into shadow, but the darkness will pass.
