Raymond Fenech (6 February 1958 - ) is a Maltese/Australian composer. He was born in Mtarfa (Malta). He was a trumpet player who was taught by his father Joseph and also Paul Schembri. His father was also a famous trumpet player. Raymond studied music theory, harmony, history, fugue and composition under the tuition of Mro Carmelo Pace. In 1976 Raymond joined the Maltese Army Band (AFM) and in 1982 immigrated to Australia where he was offered a scholarship in N.S.W. University. During this time at the University he studied to become a music teacher and afterwards further his studies with modern music composition and conducting courses.
