Composed by Daniel D. Emmett. Arranged by Phil Hamm. Historic,Holiday,Jazz,Patriotic,Sacred. Score. 5 pages. Phil Hamm #2038195. Published by Phil Hamm (A0.529789).This beloved southern civil war era song was arranged with the intermediate player in mind. I substituted lush jazz chords, but left plenty of room for improvisation by the more advanced player. The melody and rhythm remain unchanged. It is 3 pages and approximately 2:15 minutes long. This can be used anywhere southern patriotic tunes apply. I use it with piano students and have included a few finger numbers to facilitate quick learning. Also, lyrics are provided for sing-alongs.
