Love the Oldies..adn I mean oldies!

I was brought up in a musical household where all these standards were played everyday. i love them. The music is quite easy i can almost sight read all of them. My only complaint is that I can not transpose and they are written in keys a bit high for the average singer. So, we try to sing an octave lower and just enjoy the fun.

    Bring back the old songs!

Grew up in a home where my mother played all kinds of music on the piano and as I played through this book and all the other oldies in the Decade by Decade Series of Dan Coates, it brought back so many songs in my head that I heard her play! Easy to play...don't have to relearn them..just sit down and play them. Dan Coates arranges music so nicely for people to ENJOY!!!!

    decade by decade 1900,1910,1920.

I play the piano at 2 of the major hospitals. The songs in the book were written when music was actually music which had beautiful words and melodies. Some of the most requested songs come from this book. Elderly people will actually walk up the stairs to where I am to comment on how this brings back memories and how much they enjoy hearing the music.
