It depicts waking up to a beautiful summer day, full of possibilities, listening to the sounds of nature. It's written in the key of D major with the melody shared between a couple of different octaves. At measure 40, after the hold, there is a "freely" section that has a sense of floating down, like the rays of the sun on a warm summer morning. The following "A tempo" at measure 43 has a calm, rocking motion. It starts to build at measure 56 and climaxes at measure 62, then begins tapering by measure 68. The melody begins again, building once more at measure 81, then tapering back down as it reaches measure 88. The piano then starts to gently climb in syncopated rhythm as it slowly decrescendos, as if gently reaching for the sun, holding on to the final note. It is quickly followed by a quiet rolled jazz chord.
