Published by Mark Lansom (A0.759572).Tchaikovsky's famous "Dance of the Mirlitons" (sometimes known as "Dance of the Reed Pipes", here arranged for school string orchestra, although of course it could work for a group of any age. The first and second violin parts require chromatic movement in first position, whilst the third violin part is in "hand shape no. 1" for newer players. The viola and cello parts are set at a similar degree of difficulty to the first and second violin parts, but the double bass part is simpler, being all first and fourth fingers apart from one numbered second finger, all of which represent the standards of the players it was originally arranged for. Also available from this store is the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" by the same arranger. Score and set of parts included.
