It depicts the hours of the day through solo and ensemble dances, and the ballet was frequently performed on its own. It gained even wider popularity after being included as a comic ballet in Disney’s 1940 film, "Fantasia," and in 1963 was parodied by Allan Sherman in his biggest hit, "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah (A Letter from Camp)."
