A Wonderful Concerto That Has Been Forgotten
Vranicky was a Czech composer who moved to Vienna. He became great friends with his teachers Mozart, Haydn, and Albrechtsberger, and even with Beethoven and Schubert. the melodies in this concerto are nice simple beautiful melodies typical of the Mozart/Haydn Viennese style. This is a good piece for teaching a student to get a flexible bow hand with all the string crossings, and it is fun to play.
