Er zijn gekke clowns, een dierenoptocht, speelgoedsoldaatjes, een trapeze-artiest en een drumband met dwergen die er alles aan doen om de voorstelling te onderbreken met foute noten en onhandig spel. Het stuk eindigt met een vlotte jazzy weergave van het hoofdthema, eerst gespeeld op de altsax. 'Circus Scenes' is een kleurig stuk voor de hele band.

As the title suggests, this is quasi musical theatre and an optional script is included for a narrator or member of the band. There are crazy clowns, a parade of animals, toy soldiers, a trapeze artist and a marching band of little people intent on interrupting the show with wrong notes and clumsy playing! The piece ends with an upbeat jazzy rendition of the main theme, first heard on Alto Saxophone. 'Circus Scenes' is a colourful piece for all the band.

Comme son nom indique, est presque une pièce de théâtre musical, et un script optionnel est inclus pour un narrateur ou membre de l’orchestre. Il y a des clowns fous, une parade d’animaux, des petits soldats de plomb, un trapéziste et une fanfare avec des nains qui font tout pour interrompre la séance avec des fausses notes et du jeu maladroit. La pièce finit avec une représentation animée et jazzy du thème principal, d’abord joué sur le sax alto. 'Circus Scenes’ est une pièce multicolore pour tout l’orchestre.
