Derek Hasted writes "This charming piece, by Ennio Morricone, has found fame in the films Maddalena and Le Professionnel, and on television in An Englishman's Castle and The Life and Times of David Lloyd George. In the UK it reached number 2 in the Singles Chart.

My arrangement uses the guitar's sixth string tuned down to D so that the bass line can drop down at the point the original builds in orchestration. The arpeggios are not as complex as the original version, but the result fits the guitar so much better and sounds both unforced and natural.

The flute part is kept low to avoid the shrillness that comes in the upper registers.
