Oorspronkelijk werd deze muziek gecomponeerd als een lied met Oekraïense tekst, opgedragen aan Kiev, de hoofdstad van Oekraïne. Kiev is één van de oudste steden in de voormalige Sovjet-Unie; het is een stad met een origineel karakter en ze heeft heel wat parken en publieke tuinen. Vooral de kastanjebomen zijn er heel mooi en worden zowat als een typisch kenmerk van de stad beschouwd. Zoals altijd het geval dank zij de universele taal van de muziek, drukt de inhoud van dit «instrumentaal lied » warme, lieve en opgewekte gevoelens uit.Originally this music was composed as a song on Ukrainian text and dedicated to Kiev – capital of the Ukraine. Kiev is one of the oldest in the former USSR city, it has its own originality and has a lot of parks and public gardens. Chestnuts trees among others are very beautiful and considered as a typical sign for this city. The content of this 'instrumental song', as it always happens in music with its universal language, is to express warm, 'sweet' and cheerful feelings.A l'origine, cette musique a été composée comme un chant avec un texte ukrainien, dédiée à la ville de Kiev, capitale de l'Ukraine. Kiev est l'une des plus anciennes villes de l'ex Union soviétique et elle a gardé son caractère original ; elle possède de nombreux parcs et jardins publics. Parmi les arbres il y a de nombreux magnifiques châtaigniers qui sont un peu devenus le symbole de cette ville.
