Cello Suite No. 1, BWV 1007: 1-6 in Perfect 4ths(G and D Major) by Johann Sebastian Bach String Duet - Digital Sheet Music

By Johann Sebastian Bach

The six Cello Suites, BWV 1007 to 1012, are suites for unaccompanied cello by Johann Sebastian Bach. They are some of the most frequently preformed and recognizable solo compositions ever written for cello. Bach most likely composed them during the period 1717-1723, when he served as a Kapellmesiter in Kothen. The title of the Anna Magdalena Bach manuscript was Suites a Violincello Solo senza Basso. Now in the 21st century, this piece comes alive once again. Arranged for 2 cellos, each cello is playing the same piece in 2 different keys simultaneously(G and D Major). Enjoy movements 1-6.
