Flute Quartet Flute (Flute (doubling Piccolo), 2 Flutes, Flute (doubling Alto Flute)) - Level 5

SKU: BZ.ENMS-84129

Composed by Satoshi Yagisawa. Chamber Music. Ensemble. Score & parts. Duration 7:30. Bravo Music #ENMS-84129. Published by Bravo Music (BZ.ENMS-84129).

Commissioned by Tokyo Flute Quartet.
I was asked to compose a piece of music with "wind", reminiscent of the flute's breath, as the theme and also accessible for all age groups. Mr. Susumu Takahisa, lecturer at Musashino Academia Musicae, who premiered this piece has written the following in his program note:

"A flute quartet including piccolo and alto flute comprised of three movements, where 2nd movement and 3rd movement are attacca (no pause between the movements). It is a work that can be called "a suite of winds" with a beautiful refreshing melody and a crafty accompaniment. An attractive fresh and bright sound reflects a clear image of "wind" generated from the breath of the flute. Unified musicality throughout the entire piece solidifies the entire musical structure. Especially, the 3rd movement written in asymmetrical meter including Fugue style is rhythmically attractive and enjoyable."

It is my wish that this piece would be enjoyed by a wide variety of flautists. Last but not least, I would like to thank the Tokyo Flute Quartet for their warm advice for the premiere. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
(Satoshi Yagisawa).
