C. Debussy: Petite Suite "II: Cortège" for String Quartet by Claude Debussy String Quartet - Digital Sheet Music

By Claude Debussy

Petite Suite

The Petite Suite (1886-89) is a suite originally composed for piano four hands by Claude Debussy. The first two movements are inspired by poems from the volume Fêtes galantes by Paul Verlaine, and the suite has been transcribed many times, most notably in an orchestral version by Debussy's colleague Henri Büsser. The suite, composing of 4 movements, may have been written due to a request for a piece that would be accessible to skilled amateurs, as its simplicity is in stark contrast with the modernist works that Debussy was writing at the time. The second movement arranged for String QuartetII: Cortège (Retinue)Full Score and PartsOther movements also available individually or as a complete work-----------------------------------------------
