Black is the Color of Her Hair is a traditional folk song referenced in Dame Olive Campbell’s English Folk Songs from the Southern Appalachians although Alan Lomax thought the song was a reworked Scottish song. But black is the color of my true love’s hair, His face is like some rosy fair; The prettiest face and the neatest hands, I love the ground whereon he stands. It is a song of longing and hope that the lovers will once day be reunited. This arrangement can feature low flutes or a standard flute choir mixture.

Tempo: 90
Duration: 2 minutes
Flute Choir.
