A dramatic, beautiful anthem- even without the orchestration. Part writing is very effective and accessible.

We have an open choir so we don't do tryouts or anything like that. We are also pretty used to Ron Hamilton choral music. This song was pretty easy for our choir to pick up. It goes up to G for sopranos for just a bit. The other three parts are all easy ranges for a church choir. There was one key change that we had to cover with extra practice, but generally the arrangement has easy intervals and chords for voice parts. We have a mix of musicians that know music and people who just sing in church with no musical education and I think our entire group did well with learning this new to us song. You will need a pianist comfortable with octave chording and a few 16th note broken chords in the accompaniment, but there are not scales or arpeggios.Long story short: it sounds better and more complicated than it actually is. Give it a try!
