    Worse than Album 1

This is an okay album for an introductory to Sonatinas. However, I'm not impressed with the quality of this text. It's pretty much one step up from a Shirmer version, and I'm thinking should not cost as much as it does. Baerenreiter's other versions of piano albums are very lovely, clear text, black print, and a great value. But this one is not like the others. There's no English translation (not a huge thing), the notes are faded print--like a photocopy. Notes close together are mushy. I ordered this from a store and felt obligated to purchase, but I might just give them away as gifts instead. Until Baerenreiter publishes new versions I would just stick with Henle for sonatina albums. I started this review with a 3-star, but downgraded to 2-stars because I feel that Baerenreiter is the ultimate quality and the sonatina albums are a huge disappointment.
